You can import data directly into CustomerGauge using the Import Data feature (in some systems, this will be called 'In-App Upload'), which you can find in the menu under Setup.
File Size: Please ensure your Data file size is not greater than 2MB.
File Formats: Data can be uploaded in CSV, XLS or XML format. These are the excepted file formats.
Uploading Contact List Data into CustomerGauge:
There are three ways to upload customer data using this feature: Upload File, Copy Paste Data, and Manual Record (the latter is only applicable for Contact List data uploads)
Manual Record is the quickest and easiest way to upload one or two records - for example some test records with your own email address and that of a colleague. Please note that this is only applicable for uploading Contact List type of data and is only available in our starting packages because it is not suitable for larger data uploads.
The Upload File option allows you to select a file from your hard drive and upload it directly:
The Copy Paste Data option allows you to select and copy data from an Excel or Open Office spreadsheet and paste it directly into a text box:
In both cases you should select the Upload option to go to the next step where you map your data.
Map your data
If you use Upload File or Copy Paste Data, you will be directed to a page where you can map your data to the appropriate CustomerGauge fields. The Map your data page shows the source fields (the header row in your uploaded file), the value of the first record for each field, and the CustomerGauge fields to which you can map each value. If you use the data sample as described above, the CustomerGauge fields should be automatically mapped. You may still want to edit the mapping or ignore some fields.
Finally, you can double check your data upload and select Confirm:
Please note: If you are uploading Contact List records, they will now be added to your Address Book.
- Please note that each system can have its own csv delimeter for import. If in your system your csv delimeter is (comma), only import files with csv (comma), the same applies for semi-colon. Check with your CSM what is your csv delimeter and change it if that's your wish.
