Webhooks are a very useful and a resource-light way to implement event reactions. Webhooks provide a mechanism where by an application (originating system) can notify another application (CustomerGauge) when a new event has occurred on the originating system.


Whereas APIs make a call to the originating system, Webhooks are listening instead. A great benefit of this behaviour is that you are no longer making unnecessary API calls in the hope something happened. Instead, the system is being told that something happened.


In CustomerGauge, we provide Webhooks to help add operational data to your Activity Timeline widgets (Account Vitals).
